Galabao Cooking Class

The Fox and the Pantry

This unique experience offers a hands-on class led by Chef Yia, highlighting Hmong culture, food, and his renowned Minnesota State Fair dish, Galabao. Participants will learn to make these savory, meat-filled steamed buns alongside Chef Yia, while enjoying a platter of small bites such as spring and egg rolls, dips, and salads.

Southeast Asian Legacy Tasting Experience

In collaboration with Tiger Byte Studios - Join us for a one-night-only culinary journey exploring Southeast Asian Legacy cuisine with Chef Yia @ Union Hmong Kitchen. This exclusive pop-up event will feature new dishes and serve as a special preview of Vinai, set to open summer 2024.

Vang Family Dinner

Share the table with us at Union Hmong Kitchen Lake Street for a special family style meal prepared by Chef Yia Vang and his parents, Nhia and Pang. This meal will include dishes that Chef Yia grew up eating using the recipes from his parents and from his grandparents. Prepared with traditional ingredients and techniques from Hmong kitchens, this memorable experience is perfect for family and friends alike.

Wokman Film Screening + Dinner Pop Up

Join us for a special screening of short film Wokman by filmmaker Jeremy Thao, accompanied by a one-night only pop up menu drawing upon inspiration from the film. Starting at 5pm, see the screenings, enjoy the food, and listen to a Q&A with Chef Yia and the filmmaker. Tickets not required.
