On July 22nd we will be partnering up with the incredibility talented Karyn Tomlinson (2015 Charlie Award winner for Outstanding Pastry Chef) to make Banh Mi and Bao.
For us, Bao (or steam buns) was an essential in our mother's kitchen. I still remember waking up on a Saturday morning seeing the large pile of steam buns on the counter and watching my mother effortlessly forming them by hand. So we're hoping to make mom proud.
For Karyn, Banh Mi is a important part of her food journey because of the first influence from her two "sisters" Luyen and Tuong. Part of her love for Vietnamese food comes from traveling to Vietnam and visiting with her roommates family. Learning from their kitchen and eating from the streets of Vietnam.
We are so honored to be able to share a kitchen with Karyn and we are so blessed to have Lowry Hill Meats offering us their space. We will be open from 11am-5pm so just come in and grab some Banh Mi and Baos.
