We get to come back home on Oct 21st at Uptowne Cafe (1217 Caledonia St). After high school I called La Crosse home for about 10 years before moving to the Twin Cities. I get to comeback to one of my favorite places in the world to showcase the rich heritage and history of the Hmong people.
Every dish has a narrative and if you follow that narrative close enough and long enough you get to the people behind the dishes. You get to know their stories and their hearts. Food is the ultimate connector of people.
On this evening we will tell the story of our people and how food plays a role to understanding the Hmong people.
